Broken Embrace

Olivier Monfet is a Montreal-based artist whose practice explores the tension between fragility and strength through layered, shattered glass.

With a creative background spanning interior design and photography, Monfet developed a distinctive process in which glass is carefully broken, sculpted and layered to create striking compositions. What begins with an act of destruction becomes an exercise in precision and reconstruction, allowing the material itself to become part of the story.

His work is rooted in transformation, imperfection and resilience. Through the contrast between the delicacy of glass and the force required to shape it, Monfet challenges conventional ideas of beauty and invites viewers to look more closely at what can emerge from something broken.
