About the artist
About the artist
Nick Bodoin aims to explore portraiture in non-conventional ways, seeking to blur the borders between painting and sculpture by incorporating various mediums, materials, and techniques acquired from diverse sources throughout the years of his creative development. The objective is to inspire others to step outside traditional techniques, fostering a sense of creative freedom and breaking painting out of the frame.
The portraits created by Nick pay tribute to the human gaze, offering a glimpse of the beauty and strength within. He finds a strong look or a piercing gaze captivating to observe and to paint. There is a unique power in the exchange that occurs when locking eyes with another human being – a moment of connection, confrontation, or desire. Through the eyes, there is an unexplainable exchange of information and energy. While it may be impossible to fully capture the soul, Nick strives to infuse as much emotion and life into his work as possible.
