Collection: Julian Yohannes

Julian Yohannes, born in 1985 in Montreal to an Ethiopian father and a Scottish-Irish-French mother, is a self-taught artist whose work is deeply rooted in the human condition. Drawing has shaped his identity from a young age, informing both his worldview and artistic voice.

Influenced by artists like Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, J.C. Leyendecker, Alphonse Mucha, Norman Rockwell, Vivian Maier, Yousuf Karsh, and Alex Produkt, Julian blends organic and geometric forms to create emotionally charged compositions. His characters often evoke silent narratives—whether it's a weathered face etched with survival or abstract patterns open to interpretation.

Julian’s art invites viewers to feel what can’t be explained or held—offering a quiet yet powerful space for emotional resonance.

Through expressive figures and a blend of organic and geometric forms, Julian creates emotionally charged pieces that speak to what can’t be easily named. His goal is simple: to make you feel something real.
