ego

Inspiré par les t-shirts King of New York, Obed José, alias "ego", a commencé son parcours en créant des t-shirts hip-hop pour ses amis à Ahuntsic. Au fil du temps, il a affiné son art avec des formations en design publicitaire et animation 3D.

En 2005, ego a co-fondé le collectif "Les Incrasables", générant plus de cent œuvres lors de "jams" collaboratives, exposées à Montréal.

Son style a évolué, mélangeant crayon, feutre, encre, pastel et peinture pour exprimer des émotions profondes. Il s'inspire de maîtres comme Jean-Michel Basquiat et Peter Chung, ainsi que Vittorio Fiorucci, Picasso, Jean Giraud (Mœbius) et Katsuhiro Otomo.

Ego est un artiste polyvalent dont les œuvres transcendent les frontières de l'art conventionnel, racontant des histoires émotionnelles. Ses créations rendent hommage à ses alter egos et amis, notamment feu Florent Veilleux.

Inspired by King of New York t-shirts, Obed José, also known as "ego," began his journey by creating hip-hop-influenced t-shirts for his friends in Ahuntsic. Over time, he refined his art with training in advertising design and 3D animation.

In 2005, ego co-founded the collective "Les Incrasables," generating over a hundred works during collaborative "jams," which were exhibited around Montreal.

Ego is a versatile artist whose works transcend conventional art boundaries, telling emotional stories. His creations pay homage to his alter egos and friends, especially the late Florent Veilleux.
