How it all started
Meet the founder, Lewis Jeremiah
Lewis Jeremiah, a creative and entrepreneur based in Montreal, is driven by his innate desire to break free from the ordinary and push the limits. His journey has led him from owning a clothing store to creating his own fashion line and organizing captivating performance art runway shows, all in a quest to unleash his limitless creativity and distinctive vision.
However, in 2015, Lewis experienced a devastating tragedy that plunged him into profound pain and despair—the sudden loss of his mother. Overwhelmed by his emotions, he turned to alcohol as a means to escape and avoid confronting his feelings head-on. It was during this difficult and traumatic period that painting emerged as a therapeutic outlet, allowing him to express the depths of his emotions and embark on a life-changing journey towards sobriety.
When the time came to unveil his artistic project, Lewis embarked on a mission to find a gallery willing to exhibit his work. Despite his unwavering passion, his lack of established recognition posed a challenge, causing galleries to dismiss his efforts. The few opportunities that arose either came with exorbitant costs or were located in distant places.
Amidst these obstacles, the seed of an idea started to grow in Lewis's mind—to establish his own art gallery. He envisioned a space where he could showcase his own creations and provide a platform for other artists facing similar challenges. In 2023, Galerie Cater Art came to life—a testament to Lewis's unyielding spirit and unwavering dedication to championing artistic expression.
